Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, January 18, 1954, page 1, column 8 Mary Lange, Pioneer, Dies Mrs. Mary Lange, who was 81 years old January 11, and had resided in Prescott many years and Yavapai County most of her life, died this morning at a local hospital. He had been hospitalized for the past several weeks as the result of a fall when she broke a hip. Mrs. Lange was the mother of Mrs. Clarence Eckert, 324 N. Virginia St.; John Lange, of Thumb Butte road; and Mrs. Iola Pipe (sic) of Walnut Grove. Her other children are three sons, Walter of Phoenix, Charles of Mitchell, Ore., and Bob, Red Bluff, Calif. Service arrangements will be announced later by the Ruffner Funeral Home. ------------------------------------- Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 10, 1954, page 2, column 1 Mary Lange's Services Set Services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lange, pioneer resident of Yavapai County who died yesterday morning, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., in the Ruffner Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Chester Knight will officiate at the Christian Science Church service, with interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Mrs. Lange, who was 81 years old January 11, had suffered a broken hip in a fall several weeks ago. Born in Kerrville, Tex., in 1873, she and Otto A. Lange were married in Globe, Ariz., on Dec. 25, 1888. There were 10 children born to the couple, six of whom are surviving. Mr. and Mrs. Lange were owners of several large cattle ranches in this county during their many years of residency and had the P Bar ranch at Walnut Grove at the time of Mr. Lange's death in 1936. Four sons, Walter, Phoenix; John, Prescott, Charles, Mitchell, Ore. and Robert, Red Bluff, Calif., and one daughter, Mrs. E. J., Pike, Kirkland, are all in the cattle business. Mrs. Lange had been residing with her other daughter, Mrs. Clarence Eckert of Prescott, at the time of her death. Her survivors also include 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
