John Harvey Burlington, age 88 of Cordes Junction passed away April 6, 2015 in Prescott, Arizona. John was born May 31, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to John Richard Burlington and Hazel Brown along with six siblings Barbara, Hazel, Irene, Dorothy, Robert and Donald.
John grew up in California. He joined the Kelly's on their ranch and became a ranch hand and there formed his love of horses and animals. John served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 receiving World War II Victory Medal and Asiatic
Pacific Campaign Medal. John lived in Texas and Arizona besides California. He retired from Hughes & Ganz Cattle Company in Queens Creek, Arizona in 1998. John was married three times during his life.
John is survived by Carol Ann Wright, her husband Royce of Caldwell, Idaho; John H Burlington and his wife, Patricia of Kansas City, Missouri; and Matthew L. Burlington and his wife Patricia of Cordes Junction. He has nine grandchildren Jonathan Wright, Mandalyn McKay, Brian Tapp, Telsa Tapp, Amanda Burlington, Matthew K. Burlington, Cody Burlington, Kaitlin Sheahan, Kyle Burlington. He has 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Hazel Cooper of Caves Junction, Oregon; and brother Donald Burlington of O'Brien, Oregon.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Richard Burlington and Hazel Brown; his wives Betty Mae Philbrook, Doris Ella Hollis and Mary Jane Brewster; his siblings Robert, Barbara, Irene, Renee and Dorothy.
Service and Inurnment was at 11 a.m. on April 30, 2015, at the Veteran's Cemetery. The officiant was Dr. Royce D. Wright, his son-law from Caldwell, Idaho.
Services were entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
