TAFTE, Carrie Leola

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, May 06, 2015 Carrie Leola Tafte was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Oklahoma and left this world April 23, 2015. She grew up in Tehachapi, Calif., before moving to Wickenburg in 1995 with her husband Glenn V. Gray. Carrie started volunteering at the Wise Owl Center shortly afterward. Glenn passed away in 2001. She met Vernon Tafte while volunteering. She and Vernon began dating in 2004 and were married in 2007. She was known for her ready smile and gracious demeanor. Carrie and Vernon attended First Presbyterian Church for many years. Carrie is survived by Vernon; her daughter Barbara Renfro; sister Charlene Youngquest; and brother Clint Carter. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 23 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Johnathan Evans officiating.
