Kennard “Kenny” Brusoe Jr. 66, passed away April 26, 2015 in Scottsdale, Ariz. Kenny was born on April 23, 1949 in Amsterdam N.Y. to Stella and Kennard Brusoe Sr.
Kenny spent his childhood and teenage years working on his family’s dairy farm in upstate New York. Kenny graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School in 1967. He moved to Arizona and attended Eastern Arizona College, receiving an A.A. in liberal arts. He continued his education at University of Phoenix, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business. Kenny retired from Freeport McMoRan in 2009 after working 38 years in the mining industry.
Kenny’s strong faith in our Heavenly father played an integral role in his daily life. Kenny was ordained as a Reverend Deacon in 2008 for the Roman Catholic Church. Kenny was very dedicated to his parish and all the parishioners at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Kenny’s ministries included catechism for local youth and his “24/6” ministry to help poverty stricken families and orphanages in Mexico.
Kenny enjoyed cooking and was well known for his spaghetti sauce and decadent desserts. Kenny loved gardening and was considered by many to be a “Master Gardener.”
Most of all, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his beloved granddaughters, who were the light of his life. If you spent more than five minutes in Kenny’s company you would be regaled with tales of his grandchildren. To Kenny’s family, he was a “prankster” with a quick smile and contagious laugh.
Kenny was a loving husband, a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was a very dedicated and loving father to his children. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Kenny is reunited in heaven with his father, Kennard Brusoe Sr. and mother, Stella Brusoe.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Brusoe; his son, Kennard Brusoe III (Laura Watts); his daughter, Stella Gore (Nathan Gore); his granddaughters, Meadow and Lily Gore; his brother Peter Brusoe (Mary Brusoe); sisters, Elaine Grant and Anne Brusoe; and many loving nieces and nephews.
