Tina was born on May 22, 1936 to Leah and Jesse J. Stevens in San Carlos Arizona. Tina also attended Catholic school in Banning, California. She came back to San Carlos and continued her studies at Globe High School. During her return to San Carlos, she met the love of her life, Wayne Astor. Wayne a was fun loving and respectful individual who provided Tina the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest. They had many adventures together. Tina and Wayne were married and lived in Globe for a bit with his mother, Mabel. Wayne served his country in the Korean War during this time. Upon his return, they returned to San Carlos to start their own family. They had a son, William and a daughter, Brenda. Tina opened her home to also raise many nephews and nieces while at the same time working as a secretary for the Job Corps program and also completing her federal career with the Branch of Forestry, Bureau of Indian Affairs after 38 years of service. Tina loved to play cards, travel, and go fishing, with Wayne and riding in the mountains. Wayne and Tina enjoyed dancing. They would often dance in the living room of their home. Tina and Wayne loved chicken scratch music and dancing! Tina was an excellent cook, baker, and always cooked for family and friends. You were no stranger in her house and you always left with a full belly and a smile from her kitchen. She was a very devout Catholic with Wayne and was always in church and helped at church functions. She was also a Godmother to young girls in many Sunrise ceremonies. Her last joy was to see her granddaughter, Anessa have a dance. She enjoyed her Apache culture. Tina leaves behind her daughter, Brenda of San Carlos; son, Bill of San Phoenix; grandchildren, Christopher, Nevaeh, and Siboney; great grandchildren, Anessa, Jordan Wayne, Hakan, Kaleb, and Elecia; her sisters, Erma Beaver and Katie Lomayesva of San Carlos, brother, Charles Stevens of Whiteriver, Arizona, Lee Stevens of Tumwater, Washington, and many relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4 to p.m. on Monday, April 27 at Bulman Miles Globe Chapel. Memorial Service Mass was held on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 9 a.m. at St Charles Catholic Church.
