FINNEY, Dean Harley


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, May 07, 2015 Dean Harley Finney died at the age of 84 at home on April 18, 2015 surrounded by family members. Dean was born and raised in Sonora, California. He served as a Sergeant First Class combat infantryman with the Army 2nd Indianhead Division during the war in Korea. He graduated from the College of the Pacific with a BA in both Music and Fine Arts. He later graduated from the University of the Pacific with a MA. He taught music, his first love in California for over 20 years. Dean made a career change after teaching music and served with the U.S. State Department. His major foreign assignments were in France and in Kenya, where he met his wife Priscillah. In Prescott, he continued his love for music by singing in the Master Chorale and with the American Evangelical Lutheran Church Choir. He is survived by his wife Priscillah; and his daughter Deanna Marsh; and grandchildren Alexander and Alison Marsh, all of New Jersey. There will be a memorial at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church on Scott Drive in Prescott, Arizona. Information provided by survivors.
