YOUNG, Cheryl

(Maiden Name: Lloyd)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05./08/2015 Cheryl Young, 69, died peacefully May 5, 2015, in Joseph City. She was born July 18, 1945, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Elbert W. Lloyd and Vilate McKinnon. Cheryl would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing and eating chocolate to her heart’s content. Quilting, music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. She made a difference in the lives of many, and we invite you to join us and celebrate together. In 1963 Cheryl married the love of her life David Neil Young. She is survived by her sons, David Neil Young II of Shamrock Texas, Brent Scott (Chris) Young of Joseph City; daughters Kim Laree (Rick) Skinner of Thatcher and Traci Fannin of Holbrook; nine grandchildren, Vianna Young (Brian Hall), Shelby Perkins, Mashayla (Joseph) Kleinman, Christopher Young, Brett Skinner, Brendan (Kelsey) Skinner, Brice Skinner, Bobby Fannin, Jordan Fannin. Cheryl has a sister Ranae (Lee) Bodine; and brother Delbert (Kathleen) Lloyd. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Lloyd, mother Vilate Lloyd, sister Yvonne Lloyd, and her husband, Neil Young. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the Holbrook LDS Stake Center, 1127 Helen Ave., with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Holbrook Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Holbrook handled arrangements.
