The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05./08/2015 Priscilla Mae Perry, 63, of Gilbert passed away due to complications from surgery May 1, 2015. She was born Oct. 22, 1951, to Lester and Edith Marie Petersen in Snowflake. Priscilla was raised in the small town of Clay Spring. She gained an amazing work ethic working with the family, sewing her own clothes and raising animals for 4-H. She graduated from Rose Mar Beauty School and spent her life doing hair by profession. She married Grant L. Perry May 22, 1976, and raised three children in Mesa and Gilbert. She loved children and many lovingly referred to her as their “second mom.” Priscilla was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She deeply cared about all the individuals she met in her personal and professional life. She had a love and talent for sewing, decorating wedding cakes, quilting, baking, doing hair and crafting. Her greatest happiness was spending time together with family. Loving unconditionally and voluntarily serving others came naturally to Priscilla. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent many years serving in Young Womens, the scouting program, and her favorite, ward librarian. She was preceded in death by her parents. Priscilla is survived by her husband, Grant Leonard Perry; son Jason L. Perry (Melissa), daughter Shannon M. Perry and son Justin J. Perry (former spouse Kristen). Eight grandchildren, Kambry, Lane, Brielle, Aubryn, Kaitlyn, Autumn, Oliver and Kinley, will miss her tremendously. She is also survived by her siblings: Della DeWitt (Loran), Ethel Harris, Jake Petersen, Ruth Kennedy and Frank Petersen (Jennie). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 9, at the LDS Chapel, 3572 E. Guadalupe Road in Gilbert. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
