Austin John Faulkner (AJ), 18, of Prescott, Arizona was born on July 2, 1996 in Denver, Colorado. AJ became one of Heavens precious angels on Nov. 29, 2014.
AJ is survived by his parents John Faulkner of Bullhead City, Arizona and Alice Faulkner of Prescott Arizona; brothers Ryan Faulkner of California, Jessie Faulkner of Prescott, Arizona; sisters Renee Krajewski of California and Niktatcha Ainsworth Faulkner of Prescott Valley, Arizona; as well a niece, several nephews; and a lot of loving cousins, aunts and uncles; and literally hundreds of friends.
AJ was a senior at Prescott High School where he was extremely popular with staff and other students. He loved fire trucks, school buses his cats Sassy and Molly, and life. He would enjoy watching heavy-duty equipment at work, which he called "diggers" but fire trucks were his true love. One of the things he absolutely loved to do is to go to the fire stations to visit with the firefighters and look at their trucks as well as to go to areas that were working with heavy-duty equipment. His dream was to one day work at a fire station or at Goodwill and he often spoke of wanting to work at the bookstore at PHS.
He would often call to tell his mother that he had bought water, pencil or candy for one of his friends and he was known to be his fathers "side kick." He was generous, affectionate, genuine, giving, loving, ambitious, sociable and full of energy. He had an infectious smile, laughs and was a genuinely kind, loving, gentle young man with a sincere and extremely outgoing personality and loved everyone and was loved by all. He lived each day with gusto, passion, desire and joy.
AJ's favorite colors were lime green and blue his favorite type of music was country and he loved pizza, candy, Dr. Pepper, lemonade, ice cream, Facebook, YouTube, his cell phone, computer, riding the school bus and riding his red Razor and he rode that like he was a professional racer. AJ was involved in Special Olympics and with the YoungLife organization and loved to go to camp. He played soccer for several years, and in 2014, AJ played baseball and won a medal playing golf.
Our family would like to thank all the people local and a far who have showed and continue to show their love and support and who have shared their amazing stories of lasting impressions AJ has left on them and the impact he left on their lives. We would also like to thank everyone who cared for him, taught him and loved him throughout his brief time with us especially the emergency personal who tended to him on the day he got his wings which we call his "2nd birthday."
He has forever touched and changed the lives of many people young and old and we all miss him tremendously. We love you AJ and are extremely proud of you and what you have accomplished. It is with your enthusiasm, strength and courage that will help continue the legacy you have begun. You are and always will be one of the brightest stars shining above so remember when you wish upon a star an angel will never be far.
A colorful celebration of his truly extraordinary life is planned for 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Hilltop Ramada at Willow Lake in Prescott, Arizona, behind Heritage Zoo.
