A visitation will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Thursday, May 14 from 6-9 p.m. Services will take place at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 390 Dry Creek Rd in Sedona on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale. She was born December 10, 1927 to Edward and Elsie Danene (Danielson) Twit, on a farm near Kelly, IA. She graduated from Slater High School in 1945 and attended Mankato State Normal School prior to marrying Raymond E. "Rocky" Hills on February 7, 1946. She was employed by the Grain Dealers Association, in Des Moines, IA for many years. She spent 23 years with Mingus Union High School, in Cottonwood, AZ first as the "Study Hall Teacher" and then as Assistant Librarian. Her favorite occupation by far though was being wife to Rocky and "Mom" to her five children. She was an active member of any church she belonged to. Participating in the choir, church council, and as a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 46 years, Rocky Hills. She is survived by her children: Harold E. Hills (Peggy) of Bonnie Lake, WA, Judith K. Lentin (Peter B. Jones) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Raymond E. Hills II, Danene L. Hills of Phoenix, AZ and Sandra L. Johnson (Gary) of Alzey, Germany. Also, by her brother Wilmer Twit (Frances) of Cornville, AZ, her sisters Florence L. Krause (Rodney) of Slater, IA, and Kathryn Schaudt (Gerald) of Marshalltown, IA. 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
