Hassayampa Miner (Wickenburg AZ) Friday, September 1, 1916, p 1:6 Boy Is Victim Of Loaded Gun Prescott, Aug. 31-- Victim of the accidental discharge of a .22 caliber rifle in the hands of his nine-year-old brother Preston, Roy Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Bennett of Thompson valley died Wednesday afternoon. The boys had been playing with the rifle, and Preston, who was carrying the gun, had snapped the trigger several times under the impression that the gun was not loaded. The bullet entered his brother's right lung, and death followed within a few minutes. Little Preston was overcome with grief, and was barely able to tell the cause of his brother's death. Funeral services were held here this afternoon.
