Blessing Heyman, of Sedona, Arizona, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 19th, of complications following a stroke.
Originally from Albany, NY, she married long time sweetheart, Marshall N. (Mike) Heyman, following World War II and they spent the next 68 years together living a colorful life of travel and adventure in many exotic posts and locations around the world.
A Registered Nurse, Blessing proudly served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during the war. She most recently assumed duties as the annual reunion secretary of the 10th Armored Division Veterans Western Chapter.
In late retirement, Blessing and Mike relinquished the family homestead in suburban Washington, DC for the vistas of Sedona where they have established a family retreat. She is survived by Mike, sons Andrew and Edward and Ed's three children: Jordana, Benjamin and stepdaughter Tamar Kaufman Meusel.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 22 at 11 a.m. in the Sedona Community Cemetery.
