Thompsons Valley West Funeral Chapel, Goodyear, Arizona Alice Joyce Meeks, 79, of Surprise, Arizona died on May 15, 2015 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born November 20, 1935 in Denver, Colorado, to Robert and Ruth Newbury. Ms. Meeks compassionately and lovingly cared for more than 20 foster children over the years in Phoenix. Ms. Meeks is survived by daughters Michele Bullard and Tamara Melton, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, sister Ann Hixson (passed away May 19, 2015). Ms. Meeks is preceded in death by her husband J.O. Meeks Jr., parents, grandparents, and son Jackie. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Thompson Funeral Chapel. A memorial service to be held in the Fall.
