The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/05/2015 Dennis K. Whitaker Mathews On Dec. 4, 2014, the world lost a very special person. Dennis K. Whitaker Mathews died unexpectedly at his home in Kingman and went to be with the Lord. He was 59 years old. Dennis was born Jan. 22, 1955, in Phoenix. He was a fun-loving man who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, etc. He also loved his Green Bay Packers. Dennis was the life of the party and never met a stranger. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a very hard worker and worked for Toyota Lift in Kingman but traveled all over the state, including the White Mountains to service forklifts. Dennis is survived by his mother, Alice Howard of Lakeside; daughters Krista St. (Michael) Onge of Ahwatukee, Shanna (Darrin) Broom of Gilbert; sons: Justin Lentz of Phoenix, and Kohle Tanner of Chicago, Ill.; grandmother Lenora Matthews of Lakeside; sisters Sheilah (Sam) Folsom of Lewiston, Idaho, Denise of Chandler/Gilbert; Candy Howard of Lakeside; grandchildren Timmy Quintana, Abel Quintana, Kanyun Broom, Keimora Broom, Kayden Broom and Jakai Quintana; uncles Winston (Dawn) Matthews of Rocky Point, Mexico; Ronnie (Louise) Mathews of Chandler, Robert Matthews of Stockton, Calif.; Aunt Tina (Forest) Akins of Chandler; and nephews Clint and Dustin Folsom of Lewiston, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his beloved Pepa (Winston C. Matthews) and uncle Gene Matthews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Lakeside Cemetery on Saturday, June 6, 2015, with Pastor Clay Stidham officiating. Honoring his wish, Dennis will be buried with his beloved Pepa.
