George Crocevera passed away May 31, 2015, at the age of 80 in Peoria, Arizona. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Rosario and Mary Crocevera and lived most of his life in Brooklyn or Queens New York until joining the U.S. Navy and then the U.S. Air Force.
After the service, George graduated from the University of Virginia and worked as a purchasing agent for Spencer Gifts in Atlantic City, New Jersey until his retirement.
George was active in the Prescott Wels Lutheran Church, and they sent him on a mission to Novosibirsk, Russia where he met his wife Irina. George shared his love of classical music, sports and the arts with his nieces and nephews by often taking them to the opera, ballet, sporting events and Broadway shows.
George will be remembered and missed by his loving wife Irina; her children Maria Ivanteeva of Seattle, Washington and Tanya Ivanteeva of Jersey City, New Jersey; his sisters Georgianne Crocevera of Peoria, Arizona, Charlotte Evans of Brooklyn, New York and Irene Robinson of Green Valley, Arizona; his nieces Mary Rich of Atlanta, Georgia, Teresa Daniel of Peoria, Arizona and Patricia Whalen of Stewartsville, New Jersey; his nephew James Temple Jr. of Hillsborough, New Jersey; and his many grandnieces and grandnephews.
George was laid to rest with Honors at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in gratitude for his service to his country. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans or New Beginnings (new-beginnings.org).
