Ventura County Star, Ventura County, California Wednesday, July 16, 1997, page B09 Henry Ortega Sr. passed away Sunday July 13, 1997 in Pleasant Valley Convalescent Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Ortega was born in Prescott Arizona on January 7, 1923 to the union of Jesus and Dolores Ortega. Mr. Ortega was in the military from January 1943 to September 1945. He is survived by his sons Henry Ortega Jr. of Camarillo, Calif. and Ernie Ortega of Oxnard, Calif.; daughters Barbara Ortega of Oxnard, Calif. and Jenny Ortega of Los Angeles; brothers Raymond Neri of Port Hueneme, Calif., Reynaldo and Richard Ortega both of Oxnard; sisters Erma Linda Quintana Linda Goldman and Jenny Flores all of Oxnard and Dolores Guzman of Las Vegas Nev.; 14 grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 16 1997 at New Harvest Christian Fellowship in Oxnard with his son Pastor Henry Ortega Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at about 1:30 p.m. at Ivy Lawn Cemetery Ventura, Calif. Relatives and friends wishing to donate to his funeral fund can take their donations to Garcia Mortuary 629 South A St. Oxnard. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary.
