The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/12/2015 Tex Tortice Jr., 46, of Hon Dah unexpectedly went home June 6, 2015, to our Heavenly Father. He was born Aug. 27, 1968, in McNary, to Tex Tortice Sr. and Hilda White. Tex was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his beautiful White Mountain surroundings. On any given day he would be out fishing, hunting, cutting wood or simply take a stroll in the woods. He leaves his wife, Carolann, father Tex Tortice Sr., mother Hilda White, daughter Alejandra Tortice, son Elijah Tortice, brother Bernard Tortice, sisters Christina Shroulote and Tisha Roberts, aunt Abigail Wilson and uncle Gilbert White. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Adam and Irene (Lavender) Tortice, Paul and Anita (Davis) White; brother Gerald Chiago; and sister Deborah Tortice. A two-day wake will start at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, at 407 Whispering Pines Lane in McNary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 14, at McNary School Gymnasium. Interment will follow at the McNary Ponderosa Pines Cemetery. Silver Creek Mortuary of Pinetop handled arrangements.
