Hagen June 23, 1937 – May 10, 2015 Jon was born in Auburn, Washington to John and Jane Hagen. He and his younger brother Phil grew up together in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. Shortly after graduating, he married Lorraine Oakley and eventually had 5 kids, all while building his career with the Air Force. He earned the title of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring in 1993 and always had a good story to share about his experiences there. He also maintained a long running career and became a supervisor at the King County Roads Division. (Many remember the years he parked his yellow truck with the green logo near the transfer station on West Valley Hiway in Algona, WA.) Family was important to him and he wanted to share his life and his interests with them. He took the whole family on the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad to share his contributions of the care and maintenance of the line there. Most of his retirement life was spent traveling and gold mining with his partner Jeanie Walsh in Waitts Lake, WA and Congress, AZ and parts of Alaska. He taught his children that relationships are important. He showed them how to overcome adversity, to believe in something wholeheartedly, and to have a passion for what moves you. As a Christian, he had a generous spirit, especially when no one else was looking, and he always had a good story to tell. Jon was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brother, Phil; his partner Jeanie Walsh; and his 5 children, Bonnie (Mike) Swartosky of Maple Valley; DeAnna (Brian) Kreger of Shoreline; Jon L. Hagen of Maple Valley; Laura Beach of Tacoma; Linda (Rob) Wagner of Lake Tapps. He is also proud of the legacy he left behind with 14 grandkids and 13 great-grandchildren. A service will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent on Friday, June 26 at 2:30pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Redmond (Redmond, OR).
