At age 10, she, her parents and seven siblings moved to Miami, Ariz. Angie graduated from Miami High School and fully enjoyed competing on the volleyball and track teams. She worked at her family’s restaurant, The Silver Front. She began her career with JC Penney during high school and continued there until retirement.
Family was the center of her life. She married her grade-school sweetheart, the late Jesus “Chuy” Macias, on Sept. 11, 1948, and proudly raised Bob, Carole, and Dorothy. Her blessings also include her grandchildren, Brenden, Bobby, Russell, Katie, Brian, and Andrew.
Her love of family is paralleled only by her dedication to her Catholic faith. She was very active at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, attending weekly adoration and prayer group meetings. She was a vital member of the church community and had strong ties to its members.
She was a community activist, working intently to have a sign at the Top of the World read “Gila County,” defining its boundaries.
