Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. July 10, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott, Arizona. Arrangements by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, July 05, 2015 James Brian Gearhart, 49, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2015, at the Hozhoni Dunn Home in Prescott, Arizona. He was born Feb. 17, 1966 in Flagstaff, Arizona to William and Madalin Gearhart. James spent his early years in Arizona where he attended elementary school. He experienced many years of youthful joy while attending school in Scottsdale, Arizona where he discovered his talents participating in cross-country track, baseball and football. James attended Junior High in Silver City, New Mexico, where he was active in the marching band, baseball and played his last football game before graduating from Silver High School in 1984. He was very proud of the awards he received for his outstanding accomplishments. After graduation James attended the day program at Southwest Services for the Handicapped. He participated in Special Olympics several years winning medals in various events until his move to Prescott. He attended the work program at Yavapai Exceptional Industries and the Hozhoni Foundation day program. James is survived by his parents; sister Pamela Gearhart-Harvey and her husband James; niece Zayna; and nephews William, Drevon and George of Chino Valley, Arizona. He was blessed with many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and caregivers with whom he shared his wonderful sense of humor, his fondness of music (KISS, Elvis and the Oldies), his passion for his favorite football team (Dallas Cowboys) and artistically created his feelings and emotions on paper through his drawings. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. July 10, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., with interment to follow at 1 p.m. at the VA National Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
