Helen Mary Douglas, 91, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, in Springerville. She was born May 2, 1924, in Cottonwood, the daughter of James and Alean Clara Williams Shaw.
Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, quilting, reading and gardening and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Helen enjoyed having all the family for get-togethers.
Helen is survived by sons George (Gay) Douglas and Kenneth Douglas, daughter Linda (Wilson) Gaethje, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Allen Douglas, sisters Marjorie Jackson, Rosa Lee Judd and Violet Shaw and brothers James Shaw Jr. and Floyd Shaw.
A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. (New Mexico time) Saturday, June 27, at Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City, N.M.
