DILLON, Littleberry (L.B.)


Weekly Arizona Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, August 16, 1893, page 3, column 1 L. B. Dillon, whose illness was mentioned yesterday, died last evening at his residence on McCormick street. The deceased was among the pioneers of the county, and leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his loss. Mr. Dillon was a true type of the western pioneer and possessed those traits of generosity and good fellowship that made him many friends wherever known. The funeral took place this afternoon. -------------------------------------- Newspaper Unknown, Prescott, Arizona Territory Tuesday, August 8, 1893 Died - Dillon - At his home in West Prescott, L. B. Dillon, a native of Kentucky, aged 64 years, of a complication of diseases. He was a California pioneer, having crossed the plains in 1849, and for several years had charge of the government transportation across the plains. He ran the mail line from Independence, Missouri, to Santa Fe, in 1848. He leaves a wife, two daughter and two sons to mourn his death, J. R. Dillon, of this office being the youngest son, Funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the Catholic church. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend.
