THOMPSON, Donna Marie

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, June 25, 2015 Donna Marie Thompson, age 84, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada after a prolonged battle with COPD. Ms. Thompson spent many of her last years heading up the senior companion program with Northern Arizona University. She had a real passion for helping people as they grew older. She was an avid embroiderer and won many blue ribbons at Arizona state fairs and especially Yavapai County fairs. She then generously gave them away as gifts. Ms. Thompson was very proud to have spent more than 20 years in Prescott, which she called home. She is survived by her two sons, Mike Finke and wife Nadine of Las Vegas, Nevada, Wally Finke and wife Kathy of Surprise, Arizona; daughter Gloria Jo Thomas of Evansville Indiana; and sister Patricia Merrell of Tucson, Arizona. She had seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mike Finke Jr., a grandson, was killed in action in Iraq in 2005. Information provided by survivors.
