Joshua (Potts) O'Neil
Born in Tacoma, Washington, Josh spent most of his 17 years in Prescott struggling with Duchenne's muscular dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy.
In addition to being friends with several local firefighters, Josh was awarded the rank of Honorary Lt. Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard 101st Airborne Division. He was also the local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Ambassador at Lowe's and White Spar Safeway. His accepting attitude of his challenges and the way he lived had a lasting ripple effect that impacted those who knew him or have heard his story.
He lived bravely and died courageously on June 19, 2015 at home looking forward to being with Jesus.
He is survived by mom, Debra Potts; dad, Mike (Sharon) O'Neil; sister Raelinn Potts; grandparents, Charles and Janet Potts; great grandmother Leila Collier; aunts and uncles, Christy (Jim) Young, Carrie (Jason) Ziemianski, Tim (Danae) Potts; four cousins; and extended family members.
Celebration of Josh's life will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at The Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice Family Care or MDA.
Hampton Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
