McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, Safford, Arizona Edwina Lemons February 2, 1923 - July 7, 2015 Edwina Curtis Lemons, 92, of Avondale, AZ, passed away peacefully July 6, 2015, with her daughter at her side. She was born February 2, 1923 in Miami, AZ, to Rue E. and Dovie Slaughter Curtis. She is survived by her two children Herbert Thedus Lemons of Phoenix, AZ and Beverly Jo Cowart of Buckeye, AZ. Edwina is preceded in death by her parents; Rue E. and Dovie Curtis, formerly of Safford, son, John Thatcher Lawson, and five brothers. Funeral services were held Monday, July 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in the old Ashurst Cemetery alongside the rest of her family.
