CLAY, SR., Ellison


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/03/2015 Ellison Clay Sr. went to be with the Lord June 27, 2015, at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa surrounded by loved ones. Ellison was born July 4, 1951, to Felix and Helen Clay on July 4, 1951. Ellison lived in Canyon Day his whole 63 years of life. He was married to Lolita Clay for 43 years. Ellison worked at Fort Apache Timber Company for 30-plus years as a fork lift operator.After many years of hard work he became a supervisor. In his free time he would attend rodeos where he would be a timer for all the events. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and also enjoyed watching Canyon Day Indians play baseball. Ellison will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Ellison is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lolita Clay; two daughters, Ellen Clay and Marisa Clay; son Ellison “Jboy” Clay Jr. ; six grandkids; two sisters, Fernanda Clay and Dedera Clay; and three brothers, Coleland Clay, Noland Clay and Callison Clay. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Helen Clay, and a sister, Evalina Hinton. A wake for Ellison will be held starting at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, at his residence 311 S. Middle St. in Canyon Day. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at the Canyon Day Assembly of God Church, followed by Interment at the Canyon Day Cemetery.
