CHAVEZ, Albert Peralta


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/10/2015 Albert Peralta Chavez, 87, went to be with the Lord and his family Sunday, July 5, 2015, at his home in St. Johns. He was born June 17, 1928, in St. Johns, the son of Mariano and Bendramina Peralta Chavez. Albert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a local rancher that kept the Chavez Ranch running for three generations. He is survived by his grandsons, John Ryan Chavez II and Joshua Chavez; great-grandson John Ryan Chavez III; daughter-in-law and caretaker Merlinda Chavez; and his brother, Jacob “Buddy” Chavez. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Elosia Chavez, and sons Mariano, John L. and Andrew Chavez. A viewing will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns, with rosary following at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow the funeral mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
