The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, July 12, 2015 Mary Elizabeth Boatman Betty E. Boatman, known to all as Betty, was born on Oct. 13, 1916 in Nevada, Texas to her parents, James Lawrence and Alma Lahalla Vaughan. She passed away just shy of her 99th birthday, on June 24, 2015 in Camp Verde, Arizona. Betty lived a long and fruitful life as a wife and loving mother. She is survived by daughters, Michelle L. Marischen and her husband Ken of New River, Arizona, and Sheree L. Boatman and her husband Mike of Shingle Springs, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Boatman; and later her loving companion, Frank "Barney" Barnett. Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. She spent many years in Prescott, Arizona working with Republican Women's groups and church charities, but later in life suffered from severe Alzheimer's debilitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yavapai County Humane Society. Betty will be transported to Texas to be interred next to her parents. Information provided by survivors.
