BIGELOW, Dennis Jensen


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/21/2015 Dennis Jensen Bigelow, 73, died July 12, 2015, at his residence in Eagar. He was born April 14, 1942, in Eagar, the son of Owen Mathias Bigelow and Lucie Eagar Bigelow. Dennis was an educator for 38 years with the Round Valley School District. He worked as a teacher, principal, coach and retired as superintendent in May 2005. He loved ranching and raising horses, which he did his whole life. Dennis served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Peru and Chile and later served as bishop in Eagar. He loved serving others and his community; he served on the Eagar Town Council and as mayor of Eagar. Dennis loved his grandchildren and could always be seen with one of them helping him wherever he went. He was the kindest man you would ever meet. Dennis is survived by his wife, Judy Bigelow; sons Bret (Amy) Bigelow, Justin (Mollie) Bigelow and Chad (Ashley) Bigelow; brothers Rulon Bigelow and Robert Bigelow; sisters Diana Davis and Ann Udall; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold Bigelow, and sister Virginia Croxton. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
