The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/21/2015 Paula Sue Chambers, 76, died Monday, July 14, 2015, at her residence in Pinetop. She was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Hayes, Kan. She lived with her parents, Paul Harold McEwen and Francis Ilene Fink McEwen, in Natoma, Kan., for six years before moving to the White Mountains. They resided in Whiteriver for a short period of time while waiting for a home to open up in McNary. Paula continued growing up in McNary with her parents and sister. She attended school in McNary and graduated in 1957. While living in McNary, she developed many long-lasting friendships. She met the love of her life, Bill, and married him. They were together for 47 years. In 1963 Paula and her family moved to Pinetop where she lived until the time of her death. She had several jobs over the years including working for Galbraith in McNary as a clerk and for Dr. Terrill DDS. She also worked in the pharmacy next to the new James G. McNary Clinic between Lakeside and Show Low. Paula eventually retired from Navajo County after serving 17 years. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul (1969) and Francis (1996), and her husband, Bill (2004). She is survived by her sister, Cheryl (Jim); two sons, Gil (Cindy) and Steve; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Paula will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at her home in Pinetop. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
