Prescott resident Barbara Moebius (nee Hartzke), age 69, passed away peacefully in Fountain Hills, Arizona on July 13, 2015.
Proceeded in death by her father, Ray Hatzke, Barbara will be greatly missed by her husband Don Wollin; mother, Dorothy; brother, Larry; and an eclectic group of friends around the globe.
During a 33-year-career at Waukesha County Technical College in Wisconsin, Barbara launched the state's first International Trade program and helped create the award-winning International Trade Center. Barbara traveled the globe for work and leisure, and enjoyed tasting every culture as fully as possible.
Hiker, Birkebeiner, archeologist, sky diver-Barbara was a seeker of adventures mental and physical. She especially loved the water and skillfully operated diverse watercraft, much to the delight of her friends.
Barbara was a founding member of Nasbite International, a professional association for international trade educators and was their longest serving original board member. She received the Nasbite John Otis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and served on multiple advisory panels for the U.S. Department of Education as an external grants reviewer.
Barbara could stir the imagination you thought you had left behind. There was smile was on her face when she left this world, just as throughout her life.
