The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 John F. Snyder, formerly of Quincy, Michigan, passed away July 9, 2015, in Prescott, Arizona, where he has lived since January 2014. John was born in Morenci, Michigan, on Feb. 10, 1948, son of Kenneth and Anna (Slayton) Snyder. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1966 and enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam war. He served in the National Security Agency (Army) and was stationed in Turkey and Ethiopia. Upon graduation from Central Michigan University with degree in journalism, John was employed as editor of Farmers Advance newspaper covering states of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Surviving are his son, Drew (Meg) Snyder of Chicago; his daughter, Caitlin Snyder, and former wife Deb Snyder of Kalamazoo, Mich; his sister, Sally Lerette; nephews Lance, Grant and Eric Lerette of Prescott area; and his nieces, Connie Wilkinson of Coldwater, Michigan, and Sheila Magley of Leesburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley (Snyder) Payne. John enjoyed living in Prescott, especially the weather. "Another beautiful day in Prescott, Az.," was what he loved to say. He was always ready to enjoy the music on the courthouse square, concerts, plays, sports, parades or whatever was happening - and lived each day with vigor despite his Parkinson's disease. Regardless of his pain, he always managed to stay positive and cheerful. He was very appreciative of the care given him by the VA Hospital Orange Team and the staff in the wheelchair department.
