SHERWOOD, Paul Kenneth

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, August 05, 2015 Paul K. Sherwood went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2015. Born at Tower Hill, near Springfield, Ill., on February 16, 1924, he is interred at Camp Butler Cemetery, Springfield, Ill. His 91-year adventure included graduating with a Master's degree in Agronomics from Illinois University, a tour of Europe with the Army during World War II, a very happy marriage to his best friend, Evelyn Buckley Sherwood. Eve preceded him in death in 1977. Paul's love for the Lord was always unwavering. He walked the narrow path. The respite center and Wise Owl Senior Center in Wickenburg were a special and big part of his life for so many years. They gave him joy and camaraderie as an extended family can. Many knew Paul as the harmonica man, as he played with the Wise Owl Band for many years, Paul learned to play the harmonica by sitting by his dad's side when he was only 5-years old. His perfection with the instrument became well known, and was enjoyed by so many. The Brewer-Taylor family knew Paul as a wonderful addition to our family, taking up the role as a father figure. We all loved him and will miss him so. A memorial service will be held on August 10 at 1 p.m. R & R Respite Center has graciously agreed to hos the memorial at 246 Washington Street, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. All are invited to attend. We hope to share some of Paul's life through pictures, music and memories shared. Refreshments provided.
