Delvis Dean Sanchez entered into rest July 27, 2015, surrounded by loved ones in Tempe. He was born Oct. 27, 1971, to Alvis Lavender Sr. and Inona M. Sanchez.
Delvis grew up on the north side of Whiteriver. He loved liked to read any kind of book and loved to listen to music and dance. He also liked to cook and play volleyball. Delvis was a very thankful person and also a very funny person who would always make you laugh. He was everybody’s babysitter, raising a lot of kids, loving and cherishing every one of them. He loved all his nieces, nephews and relatives.
Delvis attended San Diego Job Corps for two years. He worked at a couple of different places such as Sunrise Ski Resort, Sundown Liquor and Hawley Lake.
Delvis is survived by his father, Alvis Lavender Sr.; sisters Irena Tisinnie, Dorcey Classay Henry, Karena Classay Lupe, Alvis Lavender, Jillian, Minnie and Sara Lavender; brothers Tracey, Leo Jr., J.C. Classay, Alvis Jr., Travis and Kravis Lavender.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Inona M. Sanchez, and grandparents Walter and Myra Sanchez and Daniel Lavender Sr. and Dorothy J. Lavender.
A wake was held Tuesday, Aug. 4, in north side Whiteriver. Funeral service were held Thursday, Aug. 6, at his home. Interment followed at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
