The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/07/2015 Karl R. Kahlberg died July 27, 2015, after battling cancer. He was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., an only child. Karl moved to California and then to Arizona. He was a truck driver for 55 years and had the fun opportunity in his life to race a big rig. He was a deputy reserve sheriff for Ventura County, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army for six years. He loved old cars and car shows and had several trophies. In the last seven years he built a large log home, in which he passed away. He leaves his wife, Mary Green; son David; two daughters, Diane and Debbie; and six granddaughters, Amanda, Danielle, Emily, Jennifer, Carolyn and Annette.
