Priscilla Asianita Tafoya Romero died June 28, 2015, in Casa Grande. She was born April 10, 1938, in St. Johns.
She studied nursing at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher but decided in homemaking as her lifelong career. She lived in Palm Desert, Calif., Safford, Morenci, but finally decided that Round Valley would be her home ever after.
She was an honorary Arizona Ranger and loved to frequent the local thrift stores and yard sale. She loved her beloved Chihuahuas and was also well known for her delicious tamales.
“We will all miss her greatly but know that our beloved Jesus Christ surely has a place for her in Heaven, where we can all be reunited with each other in the future.”
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carlos Tafoya and Agripinna Tafoya, as well as all of her siblings, Ben Tafoya, Sabino Tafoya, Emma Angeles and Adeline Chavez, and one son, Joseph Romero.
She is survived by her spouse, Antonio L. Romero, and children Isidra Ybarra, Johnny Romero, Antony Romero, Steven Romero, Shirley Romero and Benedict Romero, as well as many wonderful grandchildren.
Her rosary will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Springerville, followed by a memorial Mass that same day with refreshments and a meal at St. Peter’s Hall after the Mass. All are welcome to attend.
