Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Talbot Dick Heward February 04, 1940 ~ July 23, 2015 Talbot Dick Heward “Dick”, age 75 of Woodruff, AZ passed away July 23, 2015 in Alpine, AZ. Dick was born at his home in Woodruff on Feb. 4, 1940 to parents Henry Vernon and Eunice Decker Heward. Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle. Because of his many years of teaching, coaching and church service, he was a father to many. He was hard working and had a desire to serve others and believed firmly in working hard for what you want in life. Since he was young, he always had a passion for athletics; that drove him to become an educator and coach. He refereed for the Arizona Interscholastic Association where he was awarded the 25 years of service pin and a free life time pass into all AIA sanctioned events. He taught and coached at Holbrook High, Thoreau High in New Mexico and at Show Low, AZ schools for nearly 40 years. He was also a, ” behind the wheel” drivers training instructor for numerous students. Second only to his wife, and family; his love for life was sports, teaching, farming and the gospel of Christ. Dick and his late wife, Lillie Naomi Rice “Bunny” Heward together made a family of seven children Darell (Christine) Heward, Bryan (Alysia) Heward, Rhonda (Don) Hatch, Lee (Lisa)Heward, Ricky (Candy) Heward, Novlyn (Keith) Wilhelm, and Mark (Jessica) Heward. They have 30 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Woodruff Chapel. There will be a viewing and visitation with the family beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Woodruff Cemetery. After the services friends and family are all invited back to the Chapel for a luncheon and sharing of memories.
