Lorraine Lindsay Carson, 88, passed away peacefully at her home, with her daughter by her side, on Aug. 16, 2015 in Prescott, Arizona.
Lorraine was born on Sept. 24, 1926 in St. James, Missouri to Nancy Roper Strickland and Richmond Strickland. She was the youngest of 11 children.
In her earlier years, Lorraine worked in the airline industry for many years in Denver, Colorado and before her retirement worked in Phoenix, Arizona for a veterinary clinic for 17 years. Lorraine was a very caring and giving person not only in her caring for animals but with her family and friends as well.
Lorraine's passing was precipitated by COPD, which she had been fighting for many years, and in the end, she lost her last battle to cancer.
She is survived by her only child, daughter Jill Hernandez (Ernie); two grandchildren, Michelle and Daniel; one great grandchild, Tyler, who was the light of her life; brother John Strickland; sister Toni Snell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved very much. Lorraine will be missed by all who knew her and is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at The Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made to Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305 (928-445-2522) or the Yavapai Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301 (445-2666).
