Vernon Edwin Zarlingo, 79, left this earth July 12th, 2015, doing what he loved; backpacking in the Weminuche Wilderness, fishing and enjoying his family. He was born in Rifle, Colorado in 1935, to Tony and Dollie Zarlingo. He enjoyed a rewarding 30 year career in the United States Forest Service.
Vern served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. His humor and stories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Vern was loved, loved, loved and will truly be missed.
Vern is survived by his wife Kay, of 56 years; children, Joni Zarlingo, Wade (Mindy) Zarlingo, Mike (Alison) Zarlingo, Gina (Scott) Foss, his sister Jeanine Hale and 7 grandchildren; Adam, Jenna, Maya, Trevor, Kate, Ian and Ben.
A memorial service was held July 23rd at 4:00 pm at Parkside Community Church, 401 Camp Lincoln Road, Camp Verde, AZ.
