Patrick C. Halse, 72, of Caroga Lake, crossed over to be with the Lord on August 6, 2015, with his loving family by his side. Born in April 1943 in Troy, NY, he was the son of Margaret Ames and the late Patrick C. Halse.
Patrick attended Lansingburgh High School and SUNY of Albany. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1961 and proudly served four years, until he was honorably discharged in 1965. He was united in marriage to Midge C. Wheeler, on October 30, 1965, and together they shared almost 50 years.
Patrick was employed as a Computer Systems Analyst for the Department of Civil Service. He was a loyal member of the Rotterdam Elks, American Legion of Middleburg, Masonic Lodge of Altamont, the Pine Tree Rifle Club, the NRA, Bleeker Fish and Game Club, and was also a three-times past President of the Duane Lions, where he was a Melvin Jones Recipient and a Knight of the Blind.
He was a history buff who enjoyed crosswords, playing cards, playing the lottery, fanatically rooting for his Miami Dolphins, and was always up for a good debate. Once he and Midge were retired, they enjoyed traveling and spent winters on a ranch in Wickenburg, AZ. While there he drove for BC Jeep tours and discovered a passion for prospecting for gold.
Patrick was devoted to his family, which includes his wife, Midge; son, Eric (Colleen) Halse of Buckfield, ME; daughter, Laura (William) Nealon of Gloversville; mother, Margaret Ames; grandchildren, Samantha, Cheyenne and Kathleen Nealon, Hollie, Laura and Marcus Halse and Samuel Buxbaum; and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Marley. Patrick is also survived by a brother, Paul, of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We want to let Patrick know that he did a great job. We love him very much and we wish him a safe journey. We will always remember Patrick's smile, warmth, energy, love for life, family, friends and neighbors. He worked hard all his life, up until the very end, and made a difference in the lives of so many.
We invite you to join us and celebrate his life together. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY.
