Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Ula Dott Cassidy (September 23, 1942 - August 31, 2015) Ula “Dott” Cassidy, 72, passed away August 31, 2015, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff internment at Citizens Cemetery, Veterans Section. Dott was born in Globe, Arizona on September 23, 1942 to William “Bill” Dodd and Evelyn (Mahan) Dodd. She was the youngest of their seven children: John, Noel, Charles, Maudie, Clarence and Joseph. Dott married Harvey R. Cassidy on November 15, 1958 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Dott was not able to bear children and while living in Seligman, Arizona in 1963, they adopted Dwayne Charles . In 1964, while living in Flagstaff, Arizona, they adopted Robert Leon. They moved to Winslow, Arizona in 1972. Years later they adopted their grandchildren Robert “RC” William and Tiffany Evelyn . Over the years, they also “adopted” many kids: Peggy Elrod (David) and her sisters Eileen Lewis (Byron), Christine Smith, and Kathy Porterfield (John). All of their children called Dott “Grandma Dot”. In 2001, Dott and Harvey retired to Flagstaff. They later “adopted” John (Melissa) Wardinski who called Dott “Mom”. Dott loved kids, babies especially. During the years they lived in Winslow, Dott provided day-care for many children. Dott is survived by her husband, Harvey, children Dwayne (Glenda) of Page, AZ, Robert of Albuquerque, NM, “RC” (Debbie) of Glendale, AZ, and Tiffany Robbins (Aaron) of Beloit, WI. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cody (Michelle), Sebastian, Emma, Sienna “Little Dot”, Ruben, Aedan, and Cassidy, and one great-grandchild, Wesley. She has one living brother, Joe, many nieces and nephews and lots of “adopted” kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice Compassus, 1000 E. Humphreys St., Ste 220, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 in Dott’s memory.
