The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, September 06, 2015 Carole Jo (Zabel) Krause, entered into Heaven on Aug. 19, 2015. Carole was born in Seattle, Washington on May 20, 1937 to Art and Peggy (Reese) Zabel. She passed away peacefully at home in Prescott Country Club, Dewey, Arizona. Carole was a dedicated registered nurse, graduating in the top of her class at Yavapai College Nursing Program. She worked as the school nurse at the Humboldt Elementary School and retired in 2000. She served her community in many ways over the years. She was a Girl Scout leader in Olympia, Washington and the coach of the Concord Village Swimming team in Tempe, Arizona during the 1970s. Carole was a board member of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, volunteered at the Humboldt Town Library and was a member of the Community Action program of Yavapai County. Carole was instrumental in starting the first student breakfast program at Humboldt Elementary School. Carole loved all animals, despite her declining health she continued to take her dogs, Wylee and Apple on daily long walks in the Country Club. She enjoyed boating with family on Lake Mohave and spending quite moments in her garden. Carole was an inspiration to all of us who loved her. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Joanne. Carole is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter Sheri; sons Art and Richard; grandchildren Krystal, Kameron, Ryan, Danielle and Samantha; great grandchildren Alex and Noah; and sister Sheri Fulton.
