Louis Bridda, born October 22, 1920 to Sebastian and Orsela Bridda, passed away peacefully September 7, 2015 in Snowflake, Arizona.
Louis grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He entered military service early during World War Two, were he served with the 135th Army Air Force and was part of the 305th Bombardment Group and the 2nd Schweinfurt Raid. He attained the rank of Staff Sargent.
Louis was shot down and held as a Prisoner of War in Germany for 19 months. He was honorably discharged from military service on November 24, 1945. After the war he continued to show his patriotism as a member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion for many, many years. He was an avid reader. Shortly after the war he married Virginia Roth Bridda to whom he remained married for 70 years.
Louis is survived by his wife Virginia; his daughter, Dorothy (Stewart) Couch; his grandchildren, Jeanette Mock, Frank (Christina) Devecchio, Charles (Nancy) Devecchio, Albert Bridda, Wayne (Tina) Bridda, Nathan Bridda, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two sons; Albert Bridda and D. Louis Bridda, and seven siblings.
Services will be held Saturday September 12, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Silver Creek Mortuary Chapel, 745 Papermill Rd. Taylor, Arizona.
