Janice Lowe Robertstad
(June 22, 1926 - September 16, 2015)
Janice Lowe Robertstad, 89, went peacefully to be with her Savior on September 16th, 2015.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years. Dr. Gordon W. Robertstad, a sister Mrs. Gretchen Beede, and four children, Amie Robertstad (Edie), Jane Scott (David), Nancy Nordell (Leonard) and Mary Venable (Jerry).
Janice was born on June 22, 1926, in Whitehall, Wisconsin. She met Gordy at the University of Wisconsin in his hometown of Madison and enjoyed the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship group there. She later received a master's degree in sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso so she could help families with parenting and child development.
As the wife of a college professor, she hosted college students from all over the world and her greatest joy was serving others in the name of Jesus; spending many months in the jungle of Ecuador as the hostess of a missionary guest house.
Janice was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed camping and all of God's magnificent creation. She loved children and is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Veteran’s Section of Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff, AZ. A memorial celebration of her life will be held in Flagstaff on October 10th.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor her memory have been requested to go to Missions/Robertstad at Coronado Baptist Church, 501 Thunderbird Drive, El Paso, Texas, 79912.
