Alfred Paul Martinez
Alfred was born Monday April 5, 1966, in Prescott, Arizona to Alfred Paul Martinez Sr., and Irene Espitia Sanchez.
He was raised in Superior, Arizona, and he graduated from Superior High School in 1984. He returned to Prescott in his early 20s, where he met the love of his life, Linda Leyva. They were married on Dec. 23, 1989 and spent 25 wonderful years of marriage. They had three sons, Anthony Martinez, Joseph (Yoyanna) Martinez, and Alfred Paul Martinez III; and one extremely loved granddaughter Joanna Faith Martinez; with another grandchild on the way.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Paul Martinez Sr.; mother Irene Espitia Sanchez; and dad and mentor Juan D. Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Martinez; sister Anita Martinez; brothers Juan and Richard Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Alfred took pride in his career as a roofer and gave credit of his roofing knowledge to his father-in-law, Rudy Leyva. He enjoyed playing softball and was well known for his famous barbeque gatherings with his family and close friends that he considered family.
Alfred left us suddenly on Sept. 11, 2015. He touched the hearts of many, and was loved by everyone. We have suffered a great loss and he will be truly missed.
There will be a visitation from noon to 1 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Saturday Sept. 19, 2015, at Heritage Memory Mortuary 131 Grove Ave. Prescott, Arizona.
