(Maiden Name: Keller)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, September 23, 2015 Dorothy Strawser passed away into her Lord’s arms on Friday morning, Sept. 18. She died in the home she and her husband bought in Circle City in 1998. Born June 18, 1928, in Williamsport, Ind., she was the first of four children born to her parents, Marx and Martha Keller. They and her brothers, Jack and Joseph, preceded her in death. Her surviving sister Joann resides in Illinois. Dorothy was raised in the beautiful countryside of Indiana where she nurtured her love of flowers and nature’s beauty. Her joy for life was always seen in her smile, felt in her soft, loving voice and heard in her sweet laugh and giggle. She graduated from Covington High School in 1946 and soon found and married the love of her life, Elmer. They were married Dec. 18, 1947. They were married for 55 years and had six children: Gary (deceased), Jeffrey (Covington, Ind.), Michael (Circle City), Linda (deceased), Donna Hughes (Perrysville, Ind.) and Gail Whitlock (Danville, Ill). In 1998, Dorothy and Elmer bought a home in Circle City, where they spent their final years in serene happiness near the beautiful desert they loved. Dorothy was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother whose loving and gentle ways touched everyone she met and it was her lovely smile and cute, endearing laugh and giggle that captured all our hearts. May we honor and cherish this sweet, tender little lady by sharing our love with each other as she so often shared with us. Bless her heart and her memory and may the Lord comfort us in this pain and sorrow we all so deeply feel. Services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, 10330 Cotton Lane, Waddell. Refreshments and memorial will be at Dorothy’s home at 178 Gompers Circle, Circle City at 4 p.m. Flowers and cards can be sent to either address.
