The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, September 26, 2015 Janet Lee Fairweather West, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on Sept. 24, 2015. She was born on Sept. 22, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Edward and Daisy Fairweather. In 1957, Jan married Rip West in Phoenix, Arizona. She and Rip worked their ranch in Dewey, Arizona, where she was also the postmaster during the 1970s. In 1978, they sold their ranch and moved to a ranch in Roosevelt, Utah, where she worked until three years ago when she moved back to the Phoenix valley. She was born a city girl but turned into a true rancher. Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Everett "Rip" West; her parents and her two brothers. She is survived by her brother-in-law Alvin West and his wife Phyllis; and sister-in-law Kathy Fairweather. Private services will be at a later date.
