Logan Alvin Penrod

Logan A. Penrod went to be with the lord on October 2, 2015 in Port Huron, Michigan.
Logan was born September 12, 1917 to Delbert and Lillian Cooley Penrod.
He was a proud member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe where he spent his childhood living near Robert Ranch and tending to horses and cattle, helping deliver milk to the Fort Apache store. His parents owned a store and Dairy farm called Penrod’s.
In his adult years Logan served his country in World War II. He was honorably discharged and came home where he began working at the Mike Cooley Trading Post in Cibecue, AZ. Years later he moved to Whiteriver and started working as a butcher in the Lee Mercantile Store. He then worked at the Simpsons General Store in Whiteriver.
Logan was a provider, humble person who never belittled people. He always tried to see the best in everyone. Logan had a close personal relationship with his father in heaven and believed in his savior and the Holy Spirit.
He was the grandson of the famous Col Corydon E. Cooley and the grandson of Chief Pedro Logan. Logan loved to read books and watch the world news. Most of all Logan truly loved his kids, even his step children he treated them all the same. His grandkids made him smile. Logan will truly be missed by all.
Logan is survived by his five children: Stewart Penrod of Michigan, Steve Penrod of Michigan, Mark Penrod of Michigan, Linda Penrod Lewis of Florida and Lorraine Penrod of Whiteriver; two stepchildren: Larson Williams of Cibecue and Judy Rivers of Colorado; fifty two grandkids in all: 13 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids, 10 step-grandkids and 13 step great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his brother: Howard Penrod; wife: Nora Bullock Penrod; stepchildren: Jeanne Williams and Debbie Colburn.
A viewing for Logan will began Wednesday, October 7th, 2015 from 8:00am-10:00am at the Lutheran Church in Whiteriver followed by the Funeral Service.
Interment will take place at the Fort Apache Military Cemetery in Fort. Apache, AZ.
