The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Tuesday, September 29, 2015 Freda Lawthers of Clarkdale, AZ passed away on September 14, 2015 at the age of 84 from colon cancer. Freda is survived by her son, Robert (Natalie) Lawthers of Rimrock, AZ and daughter, Cinda (Ken) Briggs; two granddaughters and four great grandchildren, all from the Phoenix area. Freda was preceded in death by her husband "Red" and her son, Michael. She lived at Lamplighter Village for 12 years. She was dedicated to her water aerobics class, enjoyed playing cards, reading, cooking for her family and loved playing Bingo at the American Legion, VFW and Jerome Elks. Her laughter, smile, sense of humor and sage advice will be missed by her family and friends. We will always be so grateful for the amazing, compassionate, loving care our mother received at Northern Arizona Hospice Valley View Care. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
