HAWES,
Lynn Austin
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/16/2015
Lynn Austin Hawes, 82, died sometime in the early hours Oct. 5, 2015. He was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Spokane, Wash. Lynn was the last survivor of four children born to Dewey and Sylvia Hawes.
Lynn, as his friends called him, was a longtime member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge and the VFW.
He loved to play the piano and organ and was an excellent graphic artist, always ready to laugh and make others laugh.
This was a man who truly believed that his word was his bond. He lived his life on that truth, always ready to help someone in need if he was able to.
Lynn came to the White Mountains from California with longtime friends Glen and Doug Messenger in 1982 to find his sight-unseen property in Show Low Pines.
He is survived by his only son, Richard Hawes of North Hollywood, Calif.
To all that knew and loved him, including his wife, son and nephew, he will sorely be missed.
